How To Do Roll Roofing ?

Covering the flat roofs with roll roofing and built-up roofing are the two most common roofing techniques. Rolled roofing is the other name for roll roofing. Having laid the roll on the roof cut the extra part. Make sure you align it before nailing. Fix the sheet you just lay using the cement. This will add strength to the roof and the roofing material as well. Further nail it at the bottom and sides of the roof.

Measure 33 inches above the top of the first piece and mark this with a chalk line. Install the second piece, aligning the top of it with the chalk line. This should give you a 3-inch overlap. Apply cement and nail down. Do the same for the other side of the roof as well.

Lay a strip on the peak of the roof, centering the piece so no seam runs along the tip of the peak. Glue and nail down this piece along both sides and edges.
